There are many recommendations which can be given in helping the public avoid contracting the bird flu. One of these recommendations is not to come in contact with infected birds. Infected birds are able to pass this virus onto on to other birds and humans, but humans are not able to pass the bird flu virus onto one another due to the fact this this virus is an animal virus, and our bodies have no immunity to the bird flu virus. There for if a human is infected, they cannot pass the virus onto other humans. If you are traveling, a recommendation is to avoid open air markets as they are a breading ground for viruses. Also avoid areas where large flocks of birds can be found, as this virus can only be contracted from bird to human. Its important to keep in mind that you should always be washing your hands during a virus outbreak as it is one of the easiest ways to help avoid infection. There are many recommendations on avoiding the bird flu, including if your children are sick, keep them home from school. if you were interested in more recommendation of how you can avoid contracting this virus, you can log on to the web site for the world health organisation which is www.who.int. This web site provides many resources and information of world health concerns including the bird flu and also lists recommendations on how to lessen your chances or prevent contracting the bird flu virus.

If you are traveling, especially towards Europe and Asia, it is best to take prevention measures in order to protect your self and those you are traveling with from being infected with the bird flu virus. You can prevent being infected by the bird flu virus if you avoid foreign fowl, such as domesticated birds, farms, and other areas where birds may socialize and gather therefor spreading the bird flu from bird to bird, and taking prevention measures by avoiding these areas for the prevention of becoming infected by the bird flu. Washing your hands is one of the most common prevention techniques when it comes to preventing illness, and this useful and important technique is very important when trying to protect and prevent the bird flu from infecting you or those you are traveling with. Another very useful bird flu prevention tip to to avoid eating or touching egg products. Often times egg shells are contained with bird droppings, and touching these egg shells is very risky and can lead to infecting the bird flu onto yourself of others. If you want to take extra prevention, ask about receiving a flu shot. The flu shot does not protect specifically against the bird flu, but it can help lessen the risk of infection, which can be a useful prevention method when traveling. There are many other prevention techniques for bird flu and depending on where you live, where yo work, and if you plan to travel and where, these different prevention tips can greatly help you.
